rtm msct is looking for active volunteer producers with an interest in contemporary art, music, and broadcasting to join our community and help develop the station, its activities, and audiences.

rtm msct is a community radio station for art, culture, music and debate broadcasting from a studio in Thamesmead, SE London. The station currently presents a selected rosta of resident broadcasters from alongside a regular series of live one-off broadcasts by invited guests DJ’s and artists.

Managed and run by the artist-led arts space TACO!, the station is led by a group of volunteer producers who undertake the operations of the station.

Volunteer producers primarily support broadcasters in the production of their shows, and undertake a range of crucial activities, contributing to the culture and leadership of the station.

Key activities include:-

• Liaising with and supporting residents and studio guest broadcasters
• Editing and proofing pre-recorded broadcasts for specific resident broadcasters
• Recording and managing live broadcasts in the rtm msct broadcast studio
• Publishing and distributing broadcasts on the rtm msct website
• Editing and managing content on the rtm msct website

We encourage producers to play an active role in the life of the station and its growth. The volunteer role is flexible and can be worked around other commitments. Producers meet every 3months to contribute to the selection of new content for the broadcast schedule from proposals, decisions about the station and its activities, planning and producing live events both off-site and at TACO!'s gallery and event space.

The role of Producer is voluntary, but essential to the running of rtm msct. Producers are at the heart of the rtm msct community, with opportunities for regular social exchange with other producers, station residents and artists.

In recognition of the role they play all Producers receive the following benefits:

• Free access and use of the rtm studio (when booked)
• Access and loan of a range of audio equipment for personal projects
• free entry to ticketed events
• A 10% discount at the cafe / bar on selected drinks
• Limited number of free rtm Apparel and Merch, with a 10% discount on all other Merch purchases.
• Access to free training and workshops in audio production and sound editing

HOW TO APPLY

Producers for rtm msct need a range of experiences and skills. We are open to people without any specific audio production experience, with training and support provided. However, interest, knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary music, experiemental sound, art radiom and contemporary culture is vital.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from producers who would like to support the following areas:-

- broadcaster studio access

- Live event production,

- marketing, social media and website content production for the station.
